On Friday night, Pete Barton’s (played by Anthony Quinlan) life was left hanging in the balance after he got drunk and fell down the stairs.
Fortunately, his brother Ross (Michael Parr) quickly spotted his unconscious body and rushed him to hospital.
But fans noticed Pete had made an usual rapid recovery in the latest instalment as he was soon up and about straight after waking up in his hospital bed.
The only evidence he had passed out and had alcohol poising was the stitches on the side of his head.
Many viewers flocked to Twitter to complain Pete’s stay in hospital wasn’t long enough as one person wrote: “Pete soon got out of hospital lol. #Emmerdale.”
Another grumbled: “F*****g hell, he’s out of the hospital already?! #emmerdale.”
“Surprised Pete is eating after drinking so much, knocked his head and been pumped. I thought soup would be up his street #Emmerdale,” said a third fan.
But it wasn’t just his super speedy recovery which got viewers talking as others were shocked to see Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) new boyfriend Dr Alex Mason (Steven Flynn) treating Pete as he is a peaditirician.
One annoyed person wrote: “Alex has gone from kids doc to adult doc & give it a couple of days he will be worlds best surgeon #emmerdale.”
Another joked: “So did Alex have to go through university twice to do paediatric and Adult medicine then? @emmerdale #Emmerdale #Robron.”
