Vincent (Richard Blackwood) will consider abandoning his family after his dealings with Aidan get too much for him to handle.
It all unfolds next week as the crime boss threatens Vincent by telling him he has 24 hours to sell The Albert and hand over the cash, or face some dire consequences.
In his panic, Vincent considers resorting to desperate measures.
He will lie to Kim (Tameka Empson) when she discovers he has not deposited the last payment on their mortgage, sending them further into debt.
Vincent reassures his wife that they will have the money from the ring they sold soon while he frantically tries to find a buyer for the bar.
His adoptive sister, Donna Yates (Lisa Hammond) attempts to offer some kind words when she realises he’s having financial troubles but she doesn’t realise just how deep the problem goes.
When their conversation turns to his deceased father, Vincent gets an idea and devises a plan to make a break from Albert Square, leaving Kim and daughter Pearl behind.
On Thursday, the ex police informant will receive a call from the estate agent who tells him they’ve found a buyer for the bar who can pay by the end of the week.
Vincent is relieved that he might finally be rid of the shady Irishman, and delighted that he can stay with his wife and daughter.
However, it could be that Aidan has another spanner to throw into the works given his tricky nature and penchant for revenge.
Tonight’s episode saw Vincent come clean to Kim about what he was doing with the money.
When she found out her husband was in trouble, Kim put forward her engagement ring to Vincent, suggesting that he should sell it to come up with the cash.
Vincent was adamant that he wouldn’t resort to that, but Kim was insistent that she wanted to help.
Despite Vincent’s protestations, it is clear their mounting debts will leave them no choice.
EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
