Following the news that Lauren (played by Jacqueline Jossa) and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) will be departing EastEnders over the coming weeks, actress Jacqueline posted a heartbreaking tweet, revealing how much she’s going to miss the show.
“Wow those are the scenes and people I am going to miss!” she wrote to her 694,000 followers.
Her co-star Jake replied to the tweet with a simple: “And me” alongside a sad face emoji.
Thankfully, there’s plenty of more drama to come from Max and the post is simply referring to how much he’ll miss Jacqueline and Abi star Lorna Fitzgerald, but viewers were still shaken.
“Please don’t say Max is leaving he’s not long been back,” gasped one despairing fan, as another roared: “What do you mean ???! Spill.”
“My favourite family on EastEnders. Do you know what your next project is?” asked one more.
It’s been a monumental week for Max and the Brannings as his overflowing closet of skeletons burst open with cataclysmic consequences.
After proposing to Fi Browning (Lisa Faulkner), Max had the shock of his life when James Wilmott-Brown (William Boyde) came clean, admitting that he’s been playing Max all along.
When the whole of Albert Square turned against him, Max’s daughters tried to hand over an olive branch.
Sadly, they were swiftly shut down as Max continues to plot his revenge against the entire population of Walford.
EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
